  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (divided)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, sauté onions and bell peppers in olive oil over medium heat for about five minutes until softened. Let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed vegetables, breadcrumbs, eggs, 3/4 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Mix until just combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf on the prepared baking sheet and spread remaining ketchup on top as a glaze.
  5. Bake for about one hour or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest before slicing.
