Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 2 cups pretzel crumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Crush the pretzels into fine crumbs in one bowl. In another bowl, beat the eggs until smooth.
  3. Dip each seasoned chicken breast in the egg mixture first, letting excess drip off before coating thoroughly with pretzel crumbs.
  4. Place the coated chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).
  5. Meanwhile, combine heavy cream, Dijon mustard, cheddar cheese, and garlic powder in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously until melted and smooth (about 5-7 minutes).
  6. Once baked, let the chicken rest briefly before slicing. Drizzle the warm mustard-cheddar sauce generously over each piece before serving.
